Enrich Your Partnerships – 3 Tips for Mindful Relationships PART 1

Relationships can be some of the most incredible experiences of our lives. They can also be difficult. We want to feel connected to our partner, yet it feels like there is a wall up between the two of you. We want to understand our partner, but find ourselves sometimes feeling like we’re speaking two different languages. We may have the same argument again and again. We can predict exactly how it will go, yet can never come to a resolution. Mindful relationships can offer a way to reach a greater point of connectivity and resolution. Mindfulness can improve many areas of our life because its greatest outcome is self-awareness. Without self-awareness, patterns persist without understanding and actions are taken without consciousness. We see this within our relationship with ourselves, but also in our relationship with our loved ones.

Relationships are very often presentations of unintentional patterns that show up outside of our awareness. In fact, they’re some of the greatest mirrors of our weaknesses, insecurities, and fears. Who we’re attracted to may often be a response to an emotional wound or pattern. Without awareness of this pattern or wound, the pattern will only persist – and often escalate. The absence of self-awareness will perpetuate automatic pattern repetition with emotional and physical reactivity.
